Land and Water Resources
There will be no contaminated water discharged from the site. Dry cooling and on-site water treatment will be conducted so that the process will be a net producer of potable quality water. The water will be sold for industrial cooling applications or irrigation, or delivered to the groundwater aquifer.
Unfortunately heavy metals like cadmium and mercury exist in our municipal waste streams. They result from the incorrect disposal of hazardous waste items like batteries, CFL light bulbs, and old thermometers. One of the key advantages of the Plasco Energy Group Inc. technology is the separation of heavy metals, which can then be sent for controlled disposal. This means that heavy metals that would otherwise have been left in landfills, where they contaminate land and water resources, will be safely removed from the environment. This represents less than two kilograms for each tonne of waste processed.
