At the 2009 World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi, His Royal Highness The Prince of Orange, highlighted that "technologies for local production of sustainable energy are readily available". To substantiate his claim, he discussed three different technologies, two from the Netherlands and one Canadian-Spanish joint-venture*:
"The third example is the production of clean energy by a new, completely closed system of garbage gasification in small units. 99.8% of the total garbage supply is re-used or converted, producing 80% more biogas than it uses. No water is wasted during the process; on the contrary, water is one of the products."
His Royal Highness also points out that technology like Plasco's not only generates sustainable energy, but also contributes to fixing our excess waste problem.
