Our Proposal

Plasco Energy Group Inc.’s business model allows us to deliver and operate a facility at no cost to Metro Vancouver residents. In fact, we go out of our way to work with the community to establish a solution that is directly suited to your community’s challenges.

Metro Vancouver is currently conducting a RFP process to determine a long-term solution for waste management. Plasco is not proposing that Metro Vancouver discontinue the RFP process, but rather to establish an interim solution that can quickly address the shortfall in landfill capacity, while also providing a facility that will allow Metro Vancouver to closely scrutinize and evaluate this new technology as part of its long-term decision making process.

How the proposed facility benefits Metro Vancouver:

  • Diverts 400 tonnes-per-day of post-recycled Metro Vancouver garbage from landfill
  • Displaces 21 MW of electricity that would otherwise be produced from fossil fuels and imported for use in Metro Vancouver
  • Reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 450 tonnes a day
  • Reduces the trucking distance for waste by 300-700 kilometers
  • Significantly reduces the current level of pollution to air, land and water
  • Allows Metro Vancouver to evaluate a promising new contributor to its zero-waste commitment at no risk or cost to taxpayers
  • Provides a proven positive solution to the short-term impacts of the Cache Creek closure within 18 months
